Bay Instruments MIMS
The Bay Instruments Membrane Inlet Mass Spectrometer (MIMS) is a specialized MS with a novel membrane inlet designed to introduce dissolved gases into the Mass Spectrometer directly from water samples collected from streams, and other wetland environments. This allows direct measurement of gaseous Oxygen, Nitrogen, and Argon in water samples without degradation from headspace recovery or digestions.
This technique does use Liquid Nitrogen and will require some cryogenic training from CEST staff in addition to instrument training.
