Labconco FreeZone Freeze Dryer XL
The Center's Labconco Freeze Dryer XL is designed to handle bulk lyophilization needs for sample preparation or preservation. This 4.5L, rolling cart unit has a 5-shelf sample rack for internally-drying samples and can remove >2L of water per run. There are 8 external ports located on top to handle multiple users and multiple samples all-at-once via our array of freeze flasks.
With this alternate sample drying format, multi-user etiquette dictates that users drying internally are entirely in charge of operations and any "hop-ons" must request joint use permission from the internally drying user.
This aqueous-only freeze dryer is not intended to handle samples with strong solvents or acids. A rapid defrost cycle will be shown to users during training; this is very helpful for back-to-back drying runs.
